The Nomad was originally designed to meet the rigors of
the emerging Enduro World Series race format.
The aggressive 65-degree head angle seemed worthy
of the new breed of enduro stages that were increasingly
like full-on DH courses. However, the more we rode this
bike, the more we realized how deceiving the numbers
on paper were.
After all, a bike with 165mm of travel could perhaps
be forgiven for feeling a bit overkill when riding
your local trails, right? But the Nomad doesn’t need
exonerating for anything. The rangy cockpit, relatively
steep seat tube angle and VPP® suspension make
for a frighteningly efficient pedaler for such a capable
descender.
Designed specifically around one-by drivetrains only,
the Nomad is also able to boast some seriously compact
chain stays as a result. And with 12 speed now hitting the
market, you’ll never look back.
The Nomad is uncompromising in its purpose, and yet
somehow accommodating on almost any kind of trail. So
much so, that the DNA created here can now be traced
throughout the entire Santa Cruz line.
