In skateboard deck manufacturing, many board companies have tried to develop new deck constructions but few have experienced great success. It's hard to beat the classic 7 layer maple deck construction, which has worked well for many years. Powell-Peralta has been around since 1978, so if anybody's going to challenge the classic construction, it should be them! After years of research and development, we think they may have truly discovered a revolutionary design that may change the future of deck design. It's called the Flight Construction.

The Flight Construction uses a special epoxy-infused, fiber-reinforced design that's "as thin as your phone", 10% lighter than a standard 7-ply, and proven twice as strong as a 7 ply in tail break testing done by Powell-Peralta. Powell claims that Flight decks make economic sense, because even though the cost is higher, the decks are designed to last several times longer than a 7-ply deck. Not to mention that they have insane rebound and pop that doesn't fade even when the board is old.
